Day 1 New York
Arrive at any time.
Day 2-3 New York/Newburgh/Finger Lakes (1B,1L,2D)
Enjoy a city tour of NYC. Take an optional boat tour to Liberty Island, ride to the top of the Empire State Building, or grab a coffee in Brooklyn. Trade the big city for a campfire. Visit towering Taughannock Falls, and cool off in the lake or rent a canoe.
Day 4-5 Niagara Falls/Cleveland (2B,2L,2D)
Get wet on an optional Maid of the Mist boat tour. Tour the Rock & Roll Music Hall of Fame, or ride the coasters at Cedar Point Amusement Park.
Day 6-7 Chicago (1B)
See the sites on a guided city tour. Stroll along the boardwalk of the Navy Pier or consider riding to the top of Willis (formerly Sears) Tower. Then hit the town for some great music and nightlife.
Day 8-9 Wisconsin/Sioux Falls/Kennebec (1B,1L,2D)
Tour the Miller Brewing Company in Milwaukee and Madison, camp on the banks of the Mississippi. Head west into Sioux territory and the Great Plains, with several stops and sites along the way.
Day 10-12 Badlands NP/Custer (3B,3L,2D)
Discover moon-like landscapes on the trails of Badlands. Spend a night at a cowboy ranch, take an optional horseback ride. Dodge free-roaming bison herds while hiking in Custer park. Visit Mount Rushmore, and opt for hot air balloon excursion.
Day 13-14 Devil's Tower/Cody (2B,1L,2D)
Step back in time to the Wild West at Deadwood. Marvel at the scenery of Spearfish Canyon and Bighorn National Forest. Take an optional visit to Buffalo Bill Historical Center or an authentic rodeo.
Day 15-16 Yellowstone NP (2B,1L,2D)
Travel to Yellowstone?¢‚Ǩ‚Äùhome to the most wild animals in the U.S. Tour the Northern Loop?¢‚Ǩ‚Äùdiscover wildlife, Mammoth Hot Springs, Norris Geyser Basin. Take the South Loop?¢‚Ǩ‚ÄùOld Faithful, and Lake Village. Time for hikes and exploration.
Day 17-18 Grand Teton NP/Jackson/Salt Lake (2B,2L,1D)
Embark on an optional boat ride on Jenny Lake. Visit One Million Dollar Bar, known world wide for its western entertainment, or go rafting. See the sites of Salt Lake on an orientation tour.
Day 19-21 Tonopah/Yosemite NP (2B,2L,2D)
Travel on the "Loneliest Road in America", take the "Underground Adventure" and walk down a mine tunnel. Marvel at spectacular views of the park's peaks and granite domes. Take hikes to majestic waterfalls, lakes and meadows, and walk amongst giant sequoias. Option to rent bikes for a ride in Yosemite Valley.
Day 22 San Francisco (1B)
Check out the Fisherman's Wharf and the Golden Gate Bridge on a guided tour. Take an optional cable car ride over the steep hills, rent bikes and explore the city on wheels, or set sail to the setting sun.
Day 23-24 Yosemite NP (1B,1L,2D)
Enjoy a guided tour of San Francisco. Take hikes to majestic waterfalls, lakes and meadows, and walk amongst giant sequoias. Option to rent bikes for a ride in Yosemite Valley.
Day 25 Bishop (1B,1L,1D)
Awe at the spectacular scenery along the Tioga Pass. Marvel at tufa rock towers at Mono Lake. Soak it up in a secluded hot springs.
Day 26-27 Death Valley NP/Las Vegas (1B,1L)
Visit the hottest, driest and lowest point in North America: Death Valley. Explore Las Vegas with a guided tour along the famous Vegas Strip. Optional VIP limo ride.
Day 28-29 Grand Canyon NP (1B,2L,2D)
Trek surrounded by awe-inspiring views, taking in the "Grandest of Canyons", take to the skies on an optional helicopter flight for a birds-eye view of the canyon.
Day 30-31 Monument Valley/Mesa Verde NP/Durango (2B,2L,1D)
Learn about Navajo culture, consider an optional Navajo-led 4x4 excursion tour. Explore the lives of the ancestral Pueblo people on a guided hike to cliff dwellings in Mesa Verde.
Day 32-33 Santa Fe/Carlsbad (2B,1L,1D)
Take in south-west culture in Santa Fe. Explore the Carlsbad Caverns on a guided tour, dodging the 400,000 bats heading out to hunt at sunset.
Day 34-35 San Antonio/The Alamo/Houston (2B,2L,2D)
Discover historic Fort Stockton, cool off in the clear waters of Paradise Canyon, check out historic San Antonio and the Alamo.
Day 36-37 New Orleans (1B)
Optional visit to an Acadian village in Lafayette, for a taste of the 19th century. Turn on some jazz tunes on guided city tour of New Orleans. Take an optional swamp tour or cruise the Mississippi on a steamboat. Bourbon Street anyone?
Day 38-39 Memphis/Nashville (1B,1L,2D)
Relive history at the Rock & Soul Museum, take in a live show on Beale Street, or tour Elvis' Graceland or Sun Studios. Visit the Grand Ole Opry, then indulge in some country bar nightlife in Nashville.
Day 40 Appalachia (1B,1L,1D)
Take the Blue Ridge Parkway through the ancient Appalachian Mountains. Trek along one of the trails throughout the park.
Day 41-42 Shenandoah NP/Washington, DC (2B,1L,1D)
Pass through Shenandoah en route to D.C. Tour the monuments, visit the National Mall and its many free museums. Stroll through Georgetown or head up to Dupont Circle for some nightlife.
Day 43 Philadelphia/New York City (1B)
Visit Independence Hall in Philly, then head to NYC and take in a city tour. Take in views of the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building and ground zero. Do it up on a final night in the Big Apple.
