This comfort-minded journey up Australia’s eastern shore delivers the wonders of the region to you in fine style. Using a diverse range of transport—trains, yachts, surfboards—and unique lodgings, you’ll visit remote islands, sample world class wines, wander through rainforests and even learn how to catch a few waves. Plus, we keep your group size intentionally small so it feels less like travelling with a herd and more like exploring with great new friends.

Tour Itinerary

  • Day 1 Sydney - Arrive at any time.
  • Day 2 Sydney (1B,1L) - Today we explore Sydney with a walk through the harbour side parks and botanical gardens, on to the iconic Sydney Opera House and into the Rocks area. You’ll have some time at leisure for an optional Opera House Tour or Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb. We’ll meet for lunch before boarding a sleek former Americas Cup racing yacht for a 2 ½ hour sail on one of the world’s finest harbours.
  • Day 3-4 Byron Bay (2B,1D) - Catch our early flight then explore the famous surf and arts town of Byron. On Day 4 we meet a local surfing legend and try our hand at surfing, learning about the culture of surfing in the area. We also have an included yoga class. Enjoy free time for optional sea kayaking or just relax at the beach.
  • Day 5 Whitsunday Islands (1B,1D) - Travel to Brisbane where we catch a flight, then ferry to the Whitsunday Islands. Relax this evening in this tropical paradise.
  • Day 6 Whitsunday Islands/Airlie Beach (1B,1L) - We spend this morning relaxing on the island before embarking on a maxi yacht for an afternoons sailing, snorkelling and swimming around the islands. We end the day in Airlie Beach at our resort hotel for the evening.
  • Day 7 Cairns (1B) - An early start to the train station for our relaxing and very scenic train journey to Cairns.
  • Day 8-9 Port Douglas (2B) - Travel up the stunning coastal road, stopping for a short walk on a remote beach. Meet local Aboriginals at their traditional coastal home and take an interpretive walk with the locals, learning about traditional ways of life and survival techniques. We also have the unique opportunity to try spearfishing. On Day 9, option to take a Great Barrier Reef snorkelling trip.
  • Day 10 Cairns (1B) - Travel to Cairns, tour ends at 6pm.
